ICON Success: The History
posted by agammy
It’s been a week since our anniversary party and relaunch, and I think we finally got most of the tech issues we were having with the new interface sorted out. (So if you had any problems logging in last week, the issues should be fixed now.) From here on out, enjoy the improved look and functionality of the website.
Since last week, several of our new members have emailed me to ask about the origins of the ICON Success website and community, so I thought I would share a little bit of our background and catch our new members up to speed.
On March 31, 2008 CPP launched a new interactive web community designed especially for independent consultants (”ICONs”) to help them get the most from their use of CPP’s assessments such as the MBTI® tool. The site was born out of sponsored focus groups, where we heard from a number of our ICONs who wanted a way to communicate more with CPP and with each other in an online community that recognized them for their business and their contributions to their practice.
We had incredible support from the get-go - almost 1000 members after the first week. To support the community, CPP launched an e-newsletter for ICONs called - ICONic Connections - a month later. This bi-monthly publication provided relevant industry information, timely news, innovative product features, and words of wisdom from fellow ICONs.
Over the last year we have added a lot to our plate. We’ve committed to quarterly webinars, we’ve added ICON contributors, we’ve had opportunities to meet and work with some of you in person, and the ICON Community has become a central focus at CPP. As time goes on, my hope is that this community can continue to grow and innovate, and be an integral key of your future success.
As always, if you have any ideas, suggestions, feedback, or comments, please send them to icon@cpp.com.
