Live Twitter Feed from Today’s Broadcast

I hope you all enjoyed today’s live Twitter Feed of the BBC Broadcast - “How Myers-Briggs Conquered the Office.” I know I had a lot of fun reporting out. Although there were some incorrect facts presented (as there usually are in editorials) there were a lot of good learning opportunities to take away as well.
The most important lesson to me was the reminder that a proper interpretation of the MBTI is CRUCIAL for the assessment to be positively received and the results to be accepted. In today’s broadcast, commentator Mariella Frostrup took the MBTI assessment, but wasn’t given enough time to find her best-fit type. Not surprisingly, she was unhappy with her results and felt the instrument was blunt. While she felt she was an ENFP, her reported type was ENTJ - and with no further discussion and exploration, it was difficult for her to feel validated by the assessment. I would think anyone trained in administering the MBTI would not be surprised by her reaction!
The broadcast also discussed the challenges of administering the MBTI in Japan and China, and discussed the background and possible personality of Isabel Myers. Interesting stuff.
If you missed the presentation, hopefully we will have a recorded podcast or a transcript to share; in the meantime, you can get an idea of what was discussed by reading my tweets I posted during the presentation (screen shot below.) I will be posting more on this subject later.
