Dianne Faieta, founder and president of Faieta & Associates, has over twenty years experience helping individuals and organizations improve their communication skills and find rewarding careers that allow them to leverage their strengths.
Using the MBTI®, FIRO-B®, TKI, and Strong Interest Inventory® assessments, Dianne is able to provide insight into communication styles and conflict, determine career interests, and assess behavior in both one-to-one and group settings. Dianne is successful because she uses assessments as catalysts for self-awareness as a first step toward making more conscious, appropriate professional choices.
Dianne has many unique techniques for bringing clients to the “aha” moment, but one in particular stands out in her mind.
“As a way of introducing the Thomas-Kilmann Conflict Mode Instrument I lead a discussion around Kenneth Thomas’ definition of conflict. According to Thomas, conflict is, ‘Simply the condition in which people’s concern…the things they care about…appear to be incompatible.’
This introduction helps participants relax into the assessment and discuss their results. In one workshop, I witnessed a great mental shift from a new manager in a leadership development program. He had been certain that by avoiding conflict he was helping his team run smoothly. His group gently nudged him to see how his behavior could be perceived as uncooperative. One of the features of this instrument is the graphic way the five conflict-handling modes are portrayed. Clients can see where they are, where they might need to flex and then examine the questionnaire pairs to target specific changes.”
We asked Dianne to provide some words of wisdom or advice for other ICONs looking to achieve success in their business, and here’s what she said:
“CPP assessments are very efficient tools to economize time with individuals and groups. Clients grasp important concepts and personally reflect on these notions. They then can make career determinations or identify situations where they might modify their behavior and contribute to improved team productivity.”
Thanks for your meaningful contributions and congratulations on all your success Dianne!
